The way our students apply for accommodation has changed in September 2020 – The College, together with Swansea University Residential Services welcome your application for the next academic year. We're working together to provide a streamlined process to students studying at The College.

If you are an International Student with an Offer to study at The College, Swansea University. Please complete the following steps:

  1. Send an email to accommodation@swansea.ac.uk

If you are a UK or EU Student with an Offer to study at The College, Swansea University via one of our School of Management, College of Human and Health Sciences or College of Science Pathways Please complete the following steps:

  1. As soon as you have your Student Number attached to your Offer Letter from Swansea University to join the Foundation Programme you can apply for accommodation. Register and Apply here!

 

  • When you are ready create an accommodation account and follow the instructions at each stage
    • You can log back into your accommodation account and change your preferences at any time
    • Updating your preference will not affect the date you first made your application.
  • Once you receive your Unconditional Offer, only then will we send any offer of accommodation out to you.
  • If you then wish to accept the accommodation offer, you will then be asked to agree to a tenancy and pay a reservation deposit.

*Please note that the above information applies to all Students with an offer to study at The College, or Swansea University. Typically, students of The College, Swansea University will be allocated accommodation at Rod Jones Halls of Residence at Bay Campus, which primarily houses students studying with The College, including students on the 4 year (with a Foundation year) School of Management programme.

Room Types

Standard En-Suite Room

All rooms are equipped with:

  • Small double bed (known as 3/4 bed),
  • Bedside chest,
  • Desk
  • Chair
  • Bookshelf,
  • Storage for clothes
  • An en-suite with shower, toilet and wash hand basin. 

All rooms have broadband service and personal belongings insurance included in the rent. 

In addition, the room features blackout curtains, a pinboard, and mirror.  You will have access to a shared kitchen and a number of communal facilities (see Communal Features).

Under 18

If you are under 18 when you start your programme with The College, you will automatically be placed in single-sex, alcohol-free flats.

Living Environments

You may choose single-sex flats or flats where alcohol is not permitted when you apply. 

Rooms suitable for wheelchair users are available, as are flats for students with visual or hearing impairments.  Please ensure you indicate your adapted room requirements when applying, so we can allocate the correct accommodation for you.

This room offers a larger room than the standard,

  • A full double bed

  • Drawer Unit
  • Bedside chest,

  • Bookshelf,
  • Storage for clothes
  • An en-suite with shower, toilet and wash hand basin.

All rooms have broadband service and personal belongings insurance included in the rent.

Typically, rooms are arranged in flats of 6-11 bedrooms, each having a Common Room with a large kitchen. 

All kitchens are equipped with:

  • Cooker
  • Hob
  • Sink
  • Microwave
  • Kettle
  • Fridge/freezer

Shared flats (6-11 bedrooms) also have a breakfast bar and stools, coffee table and sofa. Please note that cutlery, crockery, and containers for separating residents’ food in fridges are not supplied.

  • There is a dedicated reception area with mail room and help desk.
  • All rooms have broadband service and personal belongings insurance included in the rent.
  • There are rooms which are specially designed for students who are wheelchair users or who have visual or hearing impairments. 
Halls fees and Contract Dates

For all students

  • A rent instalment in advance of £350.00 is payable on acceptance of your offer of accommodation and we ask that you pay this through your Accommodation Account as this will secure your room.
  • You have 7 days from the day you are offered to accept and pay the rent instalment in advance (3 days after the start of term).
  • Unfortunately, we cannot secure accommodation without the rent instalment in advance which is non-refundable if you fail to take up your accommodation.

Prices are shown on a weekly basis for comparison; however, students will be offered a contract for the duration of their course including orientation activities.  Contract lengths are shown below:
