  This module presents the fundamental aspects of Globalisation and the realities of today¿s world. This module considers the economic, political, technological and social forces currently impacting on globalisation, providing an insight into the implications of continued globalisation on Multi-National Corporations and global trade.

• HUM109 Welfare across the Globe

  This module provides students with knowledge of the international character of welfare and welfare problems. It introduces students to how global processes can impact on human well-being; how international and national organisations respond to global welfare problems and why international and comparative perspectives are valuable in the study of people¿s welfare.

• IC-1520 The Global Context of Organisations

  This module introduces students to key issues within the global context for organisation. Developing an understanding of how organisation is shaped by global contexts and how organisation shapes global contexts enables students to better understand external forces upon organisations and organising.

• LAW100 Legal Skills

  Research methods and skills is an essential part of being a law student. The purpose of this module is to develop the skills that are required to be able to study effectively. The module will interlink with the other foundation law modules. It will provide the student with the knowledge and ability to utilise academic databases and journals through a series of tasks which will have direct relevance to the topics being studied in other modules. Students will develop an in depth understanding of the English legal system and its sources of law. Students will concentrate not only on theoretical issues but will also consider the practical applications of what is being studied. One aspect of the course will be the ability to identify and discuss current affairs and their legal implications. Students will focus on how to analyse legal issues, considering alternative arguments and being able to present the information in an appropriate format.

  This module provides an introduction to the discipline of psychology beginning with the historical foundations, understanding psychology as a science and the key concepts underpinning the subject. The module will cover some of the classic debates, examine some of the myths and misconceptions, and explore some of the seminal studies that were critical in the development of psychology as a science.

  This module introduces students to the study of society. It will examine the distinctive questions that subjects such as Sociology, Social Sciences and Social Policy ask about human society and some of the key concepts and tools we use in tackling those questions. The module also provides students with a foundation in the skills we use when writing on social issues.

This module aims to help students understand the importance of resilience and how to become resilient. Students will learn about the key components of resilience to ensure they have the tools needed to maintain good physical and mental well-being when faced with challenging situations.
