Estimated cost to student: Approximately £1000 per student or approximately £600 per WP eligible student
This is based on an overall estimated cost of £3,825:
- Programme cost for 4 weeks: £2140 which includes:
- Non-refundable deposit of 450 euros
- Registration
- Tuition and teaching materials
- Use of sports and recreational facilities (including beach volleyball and windsurfing lessons)
- All planned excursions.
- Estimated additional costs: £1,685 which includes:
- Accommodation (which includes full board) - £1460
- Mandatory Austrian Students Union fee - £20
- Assumed flight cost - £205
- You may incur additional costs not listed above.
Estimated additional costs were sourced in February 2024 and may decrease/increase. Students may need to pay additional costs which are not outlined above. All the above figures are estimates and are subject to change.
FUNDING AVAILABLE

Funding is available to support 4 eligible Swansea University students for the 4-week programme.
Additional information
- Please do not make any financial commitments to your chosen programme until you have received funding confirmation and further guidance from Swansea University.
- Funding is only available for the 4-week summer school programme.
- You will be responsible for paying the non-refundable registration fee of 450 euros directly to the University of Vienna.
- You will be responsible for paying the programme fee to the University of Vienna.
- Funding can be Taith, Turing or Go Global funding.
- If you fail to participate in the entire programme, you will be required to return any funding received. Please note the University of Vienna's Cancellation and Refund policy: Cancellation & Refund (univie.ac.at).
- If you are granted funding, you will receive the first instalment of funding awarded when you arrive in country and start your programme. A second instalment will be paid at the end of your programme, once your duration has been confirmed. It is important that you factor this into your budgeting.
- The University of Vienna offers a limited number of Scholarships (univie.ac.at) for this programme. If you are awarded a scholarship by the University of Vienna, please inform the Go Global team at studyabroad@swansea.ac.uk
