Global Wales Discover is an international mobility programme developed by Welsh Government, the British Council Wales and Global Wales to increase the numbers of Welsh University undergraduates undertaking international experience abroad as part of their studies. The programme aims to break down barriers to participation through offering shorter-term placements and supported living costs. The programme provides funding to support Welsh students’ living costs and travel while they undertake a 2-8 week short term work, study or volunteering programme.

Students enrolled at Swansea University and meeting the eligibility criteria listed below can apply for this funding. Eligible students participating in selected, approved virtual summer programmes in 2021 will be considered for funding.

In order to be eligible students must:

  • Be a UK national or have 'settled status'
  • Have been Welsh-domiciled for three years or more prior to the first day of the first academic year of the course
  • Have been living in the UK for three years before starting the course.
  • Take part in a 2-8 week programme (advertised by the Go Global team)

Review the virtual summer programme options and complete the Funding Application form available on the programme page. Submit to the Go Global team along with a copy of your Student Finance entitlement letter for 2020/21 or 2021/22. The team will review your application and confirm if you are selected to receive any additional funding.
