I am a Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Swansea University. My academic teaching experience has been in clinical skills, education for health care professionals, inter-professional healthcare teaching and research. My clinical background is in orthopaedic nursing.

I have recently take over as the Director for the multi-professional MSc Long Term and Chronic Conditions Management Programme. I have been a module leader for the Anatomy and Pathophysiology optional module since 2010.

From 2009-2015 I was the Year 1 lead for the Diploma in Paramedic Science Programme and Co-Admission Tutor, Department of Inter-professional Studies at Swansea University and previously have had experience of being a cohort leader for group of staff and students with B.N Nursing Undergraduate programme. Prior to joiningthe School of Health and Social Care, I worked within a NHS Trust training department training a variety of professional and non-professional staff in areas of mandatory training, professional development and NVQ in Care.

My research interests lie in back care, ergonomics and manual handling training of student nurses. My current research relates to using video technology to improve psychomotor skills with patient moving and handling in the HEI skills laboratory.

I have been an invited reviewer for Journal of Nursing Management, Journal of Disability and Rehabilitation, Nursing Standard and Journal of Advanced Nursing.

I have experience of supervising taught postgraduate students in both M.Sc. Long Term and Chronic Conditions Programme and MA Education for Health Care Professional with their dissertations.
