Yaw A. Debrah (BA, MA, Simon Fraser University, Canada; PhD, Warwick University, UK; GIPM, UK) is a Professor of International Human Resource Management and International Business at the School of Management, Swansea University, UK. He has considerable professional working experience in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. Professor Debrah is an accomplished scholar with expertise in Foreign Direct Investment, Multinational Enterprises and International Business in Africa. He is the current Chair (President) of Academy of International Business, Africa Chapter.

Professor Debrah has significant experience in teaching, training, research and international consultancy in a variety of areas related to international business, international management, general management, human resource management, international human resource management, cross cultural management and employment issues in Africa. He has consulted or conducted training for numerous organisations including: Singapore Telecom, Commonwealth Secretariat, International Labour Organisation,  Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and private sector firms in Africa.

Professor Yaw Debrah’s scholarly work has appeared in prestigious journals such as Human Relations, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organisational Behaviour; Group and Organisation Management, Tourism Management, Industrial and Corporate Change. International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of World Business, World Development, Journal of International Management, International Marketing Review, Asia Pacific Journal of Management, Asia-Pacific Business Review and Thunderbird International Business Review. He is on the editorial board of International Journal of Human Resource Management, Africa Journal of Employee Relations and African Journal of Economic and Management Studies. He is also on the International Advisory Board of African Review of Economics and Finance.

Professor Debrah’s publications have been used by the IMF and the World Bank in their dealings with African governments. He has a wide network of links with academics, policy makers, practitioners in industry and government officials in Africa.
