Career Highlights

Teaching Interests

Currently teaching taxation modules to undergraduate students.

Both taxation modules studied together provide students with ACCA or ICAEW professional accounting exemptions.

Many graduates enjoy studying taxation and use their BSc Accounting/BSc Accounting & Finance degree to enter the accounting profession where they have joined Big 4 accounting firms or medium/small accounting practices to start a career in taxation.

Other modules taught include financial accounting at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Terry focuses on pedagogic research to improve learning and assessment in taxation, auditing and accounting subjects. She uses virtual reality for students to experience case studies through immersive learning. Students find this approach helpful to better understand how the subject relates to the business world and is an enjoyable way to learn.

Terry has produced an annual Inheritance Tax Supplement to the publication Taxation Policy & Practice by Andy Lymer & Lynne Oats for the past four years.
