About
Ashra is a Health and Care Research Wales, Research Fellow within the PRIME Centre Wales, Wales Centre for Primary and Emergency (including Unscheduled) Care Research at Swansea University Medical School (SUMS). Her research interests are in the area of prevention and early intervention addressing health inequities and unequal access to health service use using novel methodologies such as data linkage, novel qualitative methods and patient and public involvement and engagement, to coproduce evidence based research. Ashra has experience of conducting research with asylum seekers and refugees (this study now forms part of the British Medical Association (BMA) Refugee and asylum seeker patient health toolkit2), cancer patients, patients seeking mental health support and in early years research, examining the impact of health and lifestyle during pregnancy on infant health. Ashra is currently teaching on the Health Services Research module for the BSc Population Health and Medical Sciences within SUMS.
