Dr Davies is a clinical academic microbiologist and holds an honorary consultant contract with Public Health Wales, where she is consultant medical microbiologist for the national Cryptosporidium Reference Unit.  

Dr Davies is Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and the Royal College of Pathologists’ joint UK lead for Undergraduate and Foundation Education. 

She is Health and Care Research Wales Specialty Lead for Infection.
