Arif Anwary is currently working as an Innovation Technologist in Swansea University Medical School. He gained a PhD in "An Automatic Wearable Multi-Sensor Based Gait Analysis System for Older Adults" at Bournemouth University. He received an MPhil degree from the University of Wolverhampton, M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Gyeongsang National University, South Korea and B.Sc. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Asia Pacific, Bangladesh
Arif Anwary has extensive research experience on multidisciplinary projects (Sensors: Wearable, Ambient and Vision;Signal Processing, Image Processing, IoT/Cloud, Machine Learning, Gait Analysis, Statistical Shape Analysis, Fuzzy System, Assistive Technology, Healthcare and Rapid Prototyping). During his PhD, he developed algorithms using signal processing, machine learning (deep learning) and shape analysis approaches to visualize real time gait information, evaluate and assess fall risk for older adults. Prior to that, he developed a quantification procedure using Data Science and Morphological analysis, studying human back shape changes due to spinal deformity (scoliosis, kyphosis and lordosis) during his MPhil. He developed "Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance Technique Based on Neural Network and BK-Product of Fuzzy Relation for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle" during his MSc. He developed an intelligent robot performing human like activities using artificial intelligence and natural language processing during his BSc and the thesis title was "Developement of Intelligent Robot for Human Robot Symbiosis". His artificial intelligence based innovative projects achieved many prestigious prizes. He has publications in several high impact journals and top ranked conferences in his research area. He has sucessfully supervised more than 20 undergraduate projects and theses. He has held research grants worth around fifty thousand pounds. Arif Anwary's research interests are in healthcare, assistive technology, machine learning and cognition for intelligent agents.
