Dr. Denis Dennehy (Ph.D.) is an Associate Professor of Business Analytics (Research) and School Research Lead at the School of Management, Swansea University, Wales. His research primarily focuses on the mediating role of emerging technologies and analytics, and its implications for people, organisations, and society. This research has been published in leading journals including International Journal of Operations & Production Management, European Journal of Operational Research, Information Systems Frontiers, Information & Management, Information Technology & People, International Journal of Production Research, Government Information Quarterly, Journal of Systems & Software, Project Management Journal, and IEEE.
He is a Senior Editor of Information Technology & People, and editorial member with IEEE Transactions on Technology & Society (IEEE TTS) and International Journal of Information Management Data Insights (IJIM Data Insights). He has edited special issues including Information Systems Frontiers, IT & People, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, International Journal of Information Management, and Journal of Decision Systems.
He has chaired many conferences related to his discipline including Conference Chair of The 20th IFIP (I3E2021) Conference e-Business, e-Services, and e-Society (Ireland), IoT Track Chair at IFIP WG8.6 Working Conference 2020 (India), Proceedings Chair for the Open Symposium on Open Collaboration (OpenSym 2017) and Associate Editor for ECIS and ICIS.
Previously he was Assistant Professor (Business Information Systems) and a funded investigator at the Lero | Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Software, at the School of Business & Economics, NUI Galway (Ireland). He was Director of the largest MSc (Business Analytics) programme in Ireland which received the inaugural Dean's Award for Inclusive Teaching (Team Award) in 2019 and it was ranked No. 1 (Value for Money) by QS rankings in 2020. Denis was a recipient of the 2021 'Teaching Hero' award; a national award that recognises nominees for being innovative or inspiring teachers.
He is a Senior Member with IEEE, Senior Fellow at University of Turku, Finland, and visiting academic at ICN Business School, France. He completed his Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Business Information Systems at University College Cork (Ireland).
