How long is a sport scholarship?
Our sport scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Current sport scholars will need to re-apply each academic year. By having an annual sport scholarship structure it allows us to support our student athletes in the best possible way as their sporting pathways progress.
How much is a sport scholarship worth?
Our Elite & Performance Scholarships have a monetary value of up to £2,000
Our Talented Sport Scholarships have a monetary value of up to £1,000
Sport scholarship payments are made in two instalments throughout the academic year.
In addition to the financial aspect, we offer a whole range of support and services for each scholarship package.
*Please note financial awards denote the maximum award at each level and may vary.
When do applications open?
Applications open on the 30th of November 2020 and will remain open until March 1st 2021.
Can I apply through clearing?
Our scholarship applications will re-open for one week in September (date TBC) to accommodate those student athletes who are entering through clearing. Applications during this time can be made via our website.
The application deadline has passed, can I still apply?
Unfortunately, you will be unable to apply outside of the application windows. However, as sport scholarships are issued on an annual basis you would be eligible to apply for the following academic year.
Who is my scholarship supervisor?
We currently have two dedicated athlete support officers who oversee our sport scholarship program: Imelda Morrisson and Alun Davies. If you would like to enquire further regarding our scholarship programs please contact them on: firstname.lastname@example.org
What services are included in a sport scholarship?
A full breakdown of services offered for each of our scholarship packages can be found on our website.
Does a sport scholarship cover my tuition fees?
No, our financial contribution of up to £2000 does not contribute towards or cover your tuition fees. This financial support is to aid each athlete's training and competitive needs.
Does a sport scholarship cover all of my sporting fees?
Although there are many benefits to a sport scholarship, you will still have some fees for example: sports kit, club membership, some facility fees etc. However, with the financial support you will receive, many sport scholars use this money in order to cover these costs.
