Students studying together

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland, and is situated on Lake Zurich, where the lake flows into the River Limmat, in the north of Switzerland. Zurich has a temperate climate and you will experience four distinct seasons. The official language is (the Swiss variety of) standard German and practically everyone can speak it, but the native spoken language of the masses is Swiss German. English and French are also quite widely spoken, so it’s range of languages make it an interesting choice for Translation to go on exchange. A range of rooms and flats are available for students in Zurich, which can either be arranged through the Student Housing Cooperative or by searching independently and the university can provide further guidance where required. If you’re a fan of Swiss chocolate, in particular Lindt, then you’ll find plenty of it in Zurich!
