United International College (UIC)

Students studying together

UIC is located just outside Zhuhai in China, it is a short distance from Macau and students are able to access Hong Kong via Ferry. Zhuhai experiences long hot and humid summers with frequent thunderstorms and short mild and dry winters. Accommodation on campus is available for students and your room mate will meet you on your arrival in China.

Who can study here?

We have a college-wide partnership with this university and spaces are allocated to departments annually. If you are studying abroad in 2021/22, your department will confirm the destinations available to you. If you are unsure of your options, either contact your department or the Go Global team

 

 

 



Advice and tips from fellow students

  • WeChat is a popular chat software in China
  • E-payment is the most popular method of payment in China
  • Consider getting a translation app for when you are travelling
  • At UIC, there are campus curfews
  • Campus is about an hour from the downtown area
  • Almost everything you need can be found at the campus supermarket
  • Seminars are not common place, you will usually have 3 hours of lectures
  • Make use of the ELC (English Language Centre) they can help you adapt to the Chinese culture/way of life
  • It is relatively easy to travel to other cities
  • The weather is really hot and humid and sometimes extreme
