The Catholic University of Louvain is located in Louvain-la-Neuve, in the French-speaking part of Belgium. Created in 1969, Louvain is a newly born town that was formed to host the University. Louvain is well connected and was designed as a pedestrian city – so you won’t have to walk more than 20 minutes to get to any place you need in Louvain! A student-friendly city, it is affordable and the biggest student party in town and throughout Belgium is the student-organised 24-hours bike event, with more than 50,000 students participating every October. Students are advised to start the search for accommodation early, and the University can help with this.
