In addition to the different accommodation, we have the following designated areas for those students who have specific requirements. We will always try to accommodate students within these preferences where possible.
Single Sex Area
For students who wish to live with the same sex only. You can opt for this in the option when making an application.
If you choose this option you will not be able to have visitors of the opposite sex stay in residences
Quieter Accommodation
Noise is restricted between 11pm & 8am and during the exam periods.
Please note, it is not possible to regulate the levels of external or environmental noises.
Alcohol Free Area
Alcohol-free flats are for students who choose not to live around alcohol - Students agree not to consume or store alcohol within the flat/House.
Accommodation for Welsh Speakers
Specific areas for students who want Welsh speaking flatmates. Aelwyd Penmaen is located on the Singleton Campus and Aelwyd Emlyn on the Bay Campus.
Mature students are defined as any student aged 21 or over at the start of their studies.
Postgraduate area - Usually 51-week courses and study after your initial degree. Studying full time is a popular choice for students who have just completed their undergraduate degree and already know that a postgraduate qualification is required for their career plans.
Health Sciences area
These are normally for an early start and late finish course dates outside of the regular 40-week cohort
